Sir Apirana Ngnta i Minister for Native AlTairsi, on a judgment summons, was ordered to pay the stun of £23 16s lid on or before March 20, in default 25 days' imprisonment, ill" ,1 G. L. Hewitt. S.M., was on the bench. The judgment creditor was Dr. 1.. (J. Austin, of Wellington. The original claim was for J2 20 Os (id for attendances and visits as medical practitioner on the defendant and his wife during the months of August, 1020, and April. 1030. A summons was issued on August f>, 1032. and was outstanding until the beginning of May, l'.r.ili. Judgment by default was entered on Mav 2.103 a. for the amount of the claim.' together with £4 Is Gd costs. A judgment summons was issued on dune 14 hist, but was nut served until last week. When the case was called there was no appearance of the defendant, nor was lie represented by counsel. Mr A. .1 Mazengarb, who appeared lor the judgment creditor, applied for an i ii'der. The magistrate: What terms do you suggest? Counsel said Ihe summons had been outstanding for almost a year, and he thought that (here was no reason why payment ihouhl not be made forthwith.
