REFE REES' ASSO CIATION THE ANNEAL MEETING .\t the annual meeting of the Canterbury Hockey Referees' Association last night Mr L. W. Steel presided. The annual report showed that the la-! season had been a successful one. Tin' membership was 47, and the average attendance at meetings was good. Two candidates Messrs E. 11. Thomson and K. Harvey—passed A grade in l!ie theory examinations with more than !>0 per cent., but several others were only a few marks short. Lectures were raven at Kaiapoi. Darlield, Moth-sen. Ashhurton. and Hornby, and lo several city clubs. Two friendly matches were played. Cue for the Revenge Shield, agamst the Hornby Ladies' Chili, was drawn, and m the (.(her the Ti cluneal Club's senior team was narrowly defeated. Thanks were extended to tin; Canterbury Hockey Association, the Canterbury Ladies' Hockey Association, and chilis tor financial assistance, and to Mr E.
