FUNERAL
MM WILLIAM SADIJLKU The funeral of Mr William Saddler, which took place recently at the Sydenham cemetery, was attended by many relatives and friends, including members of the Scottish Society, the Cashmere Bowling Club, and the New Zealand railway staff at Christchurch. The pall-bearers were Messrs E. D. Mosley, A. McDonald, A. Syme. O. Jacobsen, S. Maddren, and A. Christie. The service at the cemetery was conducted by the Rev. L. Rogers, of St. David's Presbyterian Church, Colombo street Wreaths were received from the following:—His loving wife, his three sisters and nephew, J. LODGE MEETING + Arch Druid Brother C. H. Gyde presided over the usual meeting of the Pioneer Lodge, U.A.O.D. District President Brother Keen was present, also the Grand Lodge officers arftt officers and members of the Hope of St. Albans and Mistletoe Lodges. The bards reported 10 members under their care, and the sum of £lO was passed for sick pay. Two needy brothers applied for assistance, and it was decided to pay their quarter's dues. During the evening Grand President Brother L. B. Freeman presented Past Grand President Brother C. I. Baines with the lodge's past grand president's medallion, and District President Brother C. H. Keen presented Past District President Brother Robinson with his past district president's collar. The lodge then adjourned for harmony, and a pleasant hour was spent.
