ELLESMERE CLUB j i IMPROVED FINANCIAL POSITION Mr G. \Y. R. Osborne presided at the j annual meeting of the EUesmere Golf | Club, held on Thursday evening. \ The annual report stated that the finances had improved owing to the low expenditure during last season, a turn of £2O having been set aside as the nucleus of a reserve fund. The total membership was 79. and there fad been a general improvement in the standard of play. Mrs Vaughan and G. Leahv were the club champions. In addition to the reserve there was a credit balance of £34 Cs Bd. and the balance of assets over liabilities was £72 4s 4d. Ofilcers elected were: Patrons. Messrs H. Ncave and .T. Connolly. MP.: president, Mr W. 11. Cartwright; vice-president, Mr S. Bongard; club caotain. Mr G. W. R. Osborne: tres-<.ui-er. Mr S. Bongard; honorary secretary. Mr F. W. Page; committee. Dr. \V. A". Johnston and Messrs J. A. Scott, J. T. B. Purser, and G. Leahy; handicapped Mr D. Tavlor and the secretary: auditor, Mr J. T. B. Purser. Mcsdames Osborne. Ncavc. and Bongard were elected a committee to take charge of the afternoon tea arrange- • ments. , , . , i Fourteen new members were elected. i The president and secretary were thanked for their services. A recommendation by the committee that the club should become incorporated was adopted, and a draft set ci rules was approved. It was decided to open the season on March 24.
