VISIT OF MAJOR DOUGLAS

A civic reception is to be tendered to-day to Major C. H. Douglas, the author of the Douglas social credit scheme. Major Douglas will arrive from Wellington to-day, and the reception by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.), is to take place in the City Council Chamber, at noon. A public address will be given by Major Douglas at St. James' Theatre this evening. Seats may be reserved at The Bristol or procured from the Douglas social credit office. 95 Gloucester street.
