WANT OF QUORUM

♦ KAIKOURA COUNTY COUNCIL'S MEETING LAPSES The monthly meeting of the Kaikoura County Council, which was to have been held yesterday, lapsed for want of a quorum. Those in attendance were Crs. F. J. Monk (chairman), B. J. Mackle, G. E. Parson, and E. E. Weaver. The absentees were Crs. J. Boyd, D. Boyd, P. S. Humm, and E. H. Eccles. One hundred applications were received for the position of driver of the power grader as well as several tenders for the supply of petrol. These and other matters will have to be held over until there is a quorum of the council. An election to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Cr. R. L Withers will take place on Thursday.
