TRIAL IN WAIMAKARIKI RIVER The new suction dredge, designed and built by Mr H. W. Harris for the Waimakariri Harbour Board, was given a trial at the junction of the north branch of the Waimakariri river and the outflow from Stewart's Gully, where a shoal repeatedly forms with the meeting of the two streams.
