UPPER RICCARTON HARMONIC SOCIETY
MUST ANNUAL MEETING Tui; first annual meeting of th« Upper Riccarton Harmonic Society was held last evening in St. Peter'* Anglican Sunday schoolroom. The meeting was well attended. 1 In the annual report the honorary secretary (Mrs E. Buckley) stated that the year had been a very successful one. Two concerts had been -°iven and on each occasion the house had been well filled. The thanks of the society were due to all those who had assisfed it hi any way, more especially to the conductor, Mr Roydon Andrew;-, and the pianist, Mrs T. CaJcoU. Their work in particular had insisted the society hi no small measure. The membership had increased by approximately 50 per cent, sincp the society's inception. Election of Officers. The officers were elected as .fol-low.-,:—Patron, Archdeacon G. W. York: president, Mr A. Freeman; vicepresidents, Messrs E. Lovel! Smith, C. C. Harrow, and E. P. Andrews; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. Buckley; committee, Misses F. Davison, D. Rose, and M. Harrow, Messrs N. Hewitt, C. Harrow, A. Bean, and h. McClatchy. It was agreed to stage "The May Queen" as one of the society's productions during the year.
