THREAT TO STARVE

BOHEMIAN MINERS' HUNGER STRIKE (Received February 4, 8.50 p.m.) PRAGUE, February 3. The hunger strike among 500 miners in the North Bohemian pits is extending to those underground. They refuse to touch the food sent down by their families and state that they are determined to die before abandoning their wage demands. Some are suffering convulsions due to hunger. Negotiations are continuing. A later message states that the underground hunger strike has ended. The miners have left the pits but are continuing the strike above ground.
