The 11 wiring was continued in the Supreme Court this morning of the case in which Charles Adolph Edvert Johnson, a labourer, of Dunedin, claimed £2107 30s from John Beresford Gillies, a salesman, of Dunedin, a*-- damages for injuries received through being knocked down by a motor-car in Princess street south, on the night of June 20 of last year. The plaintiff, who lost a leg as a rc-ult of his injury, alleged negligence against the defendant. Evidence was heard at length, and the jury awarded plaintiff damages amounting to £1407 lO.s. Mr A. C. Hanlon, for the defendant, gave notice to move for a new trial on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence.
