• ty MESSRS E. NEWMAN AND G. W. REID REAPPOINTED [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, October 10. The reappointment of Mr E. Newman, C.M.G., of Marton, and Mr G. W. Reid, of Dunedin, as members of the Government Railways Board for a further period of two years was announced this evening by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes). Their terms date from June 9 last, on which day they completed their original two-year appointments under the Government Railways Board Amendment Act, 1931. Provision was made for a Railways Board of live members, two of whom were to be appointed for two years and two for three years. The remaining office, that of chairman, was a four-year appointment. The two members appointed for three years were Mr D. Reese, of Christchurch. and Sir James Gunson, of Auckland. Their terms will expire on June 9 next, and that of I the chairman. Mr H. H.
