FARMING ANNUAL

"DAILY TELEGRAPH," HAWKE'S BAY Hawke's Bay's agricultural and pastoral activity—the fount of those natural resources which have always stood the province in good stead—again comes under review in the Farming Annual, published by the "Daily Telegraph" on September 30. The articles and illustrations, filling the pages of a very creditable production, reveal the strong position which the province occupies. The publication deals with the seed-growing industry, the progress of the Jersey strain of cattle, the outlook for crossbred wool, the fruit harvest, aristocrats of the cattle world, pig production, milk and butter-fat production combined,, sports, and general district notes. -An editorial states that the province has. reached a high position by careful farming, in which many factors have played a leading part. Bad times, it adds, have left at least, one legacy of usefulness in the better farming practised in Hawke's Bay to-day.
