FANCY DRESS PARTY.
A children's fancy dress party, organised by the committee of the New Brighton sub-branch of the Plunket Society, was held in the Pier Hall, New Brighton, on Saturday, and proved an outstanding success. Mrs J. Cracroft Wilson, president of the Christchurch branch, congratulated the sub-branch on the renewal of interest in Plunket Society work in the borough, as evidenced by the success of the effort. The judges were Mesdames Cracroft Wilson, Cecil Wood, A. J. Benzie, R. S. Pearson, and E. Ellis. Members of the committee in charge of arrangements were Miss I. A. M. Leaver (Mayoress of New Brighton), Mrs N. McGillivray (president of the sub-branch), Mrs M. H. Fougere (secretary), Mesdames E. Smith, W. Gobbe. F. Blewitt, L. Ward, S. J. Smith, H. Taylor, T. Bisman, W. Flavell, G. Beilby, G.' Bundy, and A. H. Henry. The marshals were Messrs F. J. Lawrence Scott and H. Ardern. Music for the marches was played by Mrs A. H. Henry. A special prize was given by Mrs Cracroft Wilson to Joan Ritchie, aged 10 months, for her representation of a Plunket nurse. Mrs C.
