The steamer Shinoh Maru loaded about 6500 tons at Wellington and Auckland last December, and the Ryoka Maru took about 7800 tons during February and March from Auckland, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The British chartered steamer Helmspey was the last vessel to load. She took about 7300 tons of scrap, and sailed from Auckland last month. A fifth ship is expected to come to New Zealand before the end of the year to take metal to Japan.
