WASHINGTON, July 10. To-day the Crop Reporting Board reported that the first six months of the year had been less favourable for crop production than any similar period in 50 years. Wheat production as at July 1 was estimated at 495,681.000 bushels. With average weather during the rest of the growing season the crop would be the smallest since 1893. Normally, the country produces 850,000,000 bushels. PRODUCTION TO BE RESTRICTED. (Received July 11, 8.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 10. The Secretary for Agriculture, Mr Henry Wallace, said to-night that he would proceed with his programme for cutting American farm production, despite to-day's forecast of the smallest grain harvest in decades.
