HOCKEY.

MALVERN ASSOCIATION. Saturday's results were: —Darficld 5, Oreendalo 1; Kirweo 0, Shoffield 0. NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening. Present: Messrs H. S. J. Goodman, P. N. Quartermain, R. Gracie. C. S. Bellamy, C. C. Holland, S. G. Holland, A. Preston, and W. H. Down. The Poverty Bay association forwarded the amount of its affiliation fee, and a challenge for the shield, together with the fee. The challenge was approved. Mr H. E. Watts (Auckland) was approved as referee for the shield match, Auckland v. Waikato, and Mr A. W. le Brun for the Taranaki v. Horowhenua Nordon Cup match. The Marlborough association asked for information regarding entries for the Nordon Cup competition. The Nelson association's suggestion that the inter-island match be played at Nelson on September 2 was approved, and it was decided to ask all associations to forward the names of available players by August 19. Mr R. H. Thompson was appointed manager of the North Island team.
