PAPANUI SUB-BBANCH.

The monthly committee meeting of the Papanui sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Papahui Present: Mrs L. M. Wilson (in the chair), Mesdarnes Fred Armstrong, R. B. Ward, L. Checkley, P. Garland's report for the month was as follows: —Visits to Papanui rooms; adults. 224, babies 203, preschool children 17/ and new cases two. The treasurer reported that the proceeds from the jumble sale amounted to £39. The committee expressed thanks to all who had assisted by sending goods for the sale. A vote of thanks was passed to the "Waimairi County Council for its generous donation to the sub-branch. It was decided to hold the next committee meeting in the Christchurch Plunket rooms on July 14, when new members would be given the opportunity of inspecting the building. Nurse Allan will give a talk on Plunket work. Donations and subscriptions wer« received from Mesdarnes R. H, Ballantyne, R. H. Cranfield, F. W. Dunnage, H. Suckling, H. N. Talbot, B. E. H. Whitcombe, F. Armstrong, L. C. Sisson, R. B. Ward, L. M. Wilson, Howard James, Eric Diehl, and the Waimairi County Council. WOOLSTON-LINWOOD SUBBBANCH, Mrs H. R. Smith presided at the monthly meeting of the WoolstohLinwood sub-branch of the Plunket Society. Others present were Mesdarnes E. Schute, C. G. Calvert, J. S. Moore, F. A. Tdoley, H. Ayers, M. Walsh, D. Lingard, A. Douglass, and Miss Kidd. , It was agreed that owing to the increase of work at Linwood the nurse should be granted another half day in the district. . Nurse McClea's report for the month was as follows:—Woolston: Adults 73, babies 73. Linwood: Adults 115, babies US. CHILDREN'S DANCE AT SUMNER. The children's annual fancy dress dance of the Sumner-Redcliffs branch of the Plunket Society was held last evening in the- Sumner Town Hall. From six until eight o'clock children from tiny tots tip to 11 years were present, and afterwards those from 11 years onwards danced until 10 6'elock. The committee worked very hard to ensure the success of the evening. The hall was prettily decorated with balloons and greenery. The committee Was Mesdarnes A. W. Beaven (president), C. E.
