The eleventh successive annual charity ball, held in the Town Hall in Wellington on Wednesday night, was a brilliant success. The ball-room was crowded with dancers, and there was not a vacant seat in the gallery. The chaperons were Mrs George Craig, who wore a frock of Wedgwood blue georgette and a squirrel wrap; Madame A. Nihotte,. who wore a mist blue lace frock; Mrs Eugene Casey, who wore a black lace dress; and Mi's T. B. Gusscott, who wore black chiffon velvet. No fewer than 37 debutantes, all wearing white or pastel-tinted frocks, were presented to Archbishop O'Shea. The proceeds of the ball will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, which does a great amount of charitable work in and around Wellington. -
