A DUNEDIN PROTEST.
SUPPORT BY CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELE&HAM.) WELLINGTON, May 26. The position in regard to the marketing of New Zealand's produce in Great Britain and proposals for quota restrictions were discussed at a meeting to-day of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. It was considered most important that New Zealand should take any opportunity of safeguarding itself against such restrictions applying to its products. The following resolution from the Dunedin chamber was unanimously endorsed: "That the free and unrestricted entry of our exports into Great-Britain is so vital to New Zealand that negotiations should' be initiated to ascertain on what terms this right can be secured, and we should be prepared to make concessions to achieve this end." It was decided to convey the resolution to the Government, with a request that it be represented to the British Government. MR POLSON AT INVERCARGILL. (PHES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
