BRITISH UNEMPLOYMENT POSITION.
IMPROVEMENT LAST YEAR. (BRITISH OFMCIA;, WIHELKSS.) (Received April 9, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, April 7. The annual report of the Ministry of Labour shows that the volume of unemployment moved between relatively narrow limits last year, compared with the three preceding years. There was a very considerable slowing down in the growth of unemployment. The report notes a marked change in the direction of expansion of the industries concerned mainly with the home market and distribution services. Employment exchanges were responsible for placing in employment 1,855,841 persons last year.
