Tiie finals in the Canterbury Croquet Association's silver button competitions were played off yesterday, tho following being the winners in the different grades:— A Grade —Mrs Palmer (United Club). B Grade—Mrs Childs (Kaiapoi). C Grade—Mrs Barnett (New Brighton). ASHBURTON V. GERALDINE. An S grade flag match pla'yed between, the Ashbui'toii and Geraldinc Croquet Clubs in the South Canterbury Croquet Association's competitions, yesterday, resulted in a win for Ashburton by six games to three. Details were as follows (Ashburton names first) : Singles—Mrs Heonan 16, Kirk 26; Mrs Watt 21, Mrs Hayes 26; Mrs Dunn 26, Mrs Kirk 20; Mrs J. T. Smith 26, Mrs Broad 2a; Mrs F. Sruallboiio 26, Mrs Webb 8; J. Thompson 26, Mrs Slock 18. Doubles—Mesdames Ucenan and Watt :*., Kirk and Mrs Hayes 26; Mesdames Dunn and Smith 26, Mesdames Kirk and Broad 11; Thompson and Mrs Smallbone 26. Mesdames Stock and Webb 20. The Ashburton A team has suffored only one defer t. . The No. 2 B team w ill play-off with Ashby in the final of that grade, while the C team has an unbeaten record.
