ST. ANDREW'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.
Tlifl annual picnic of the pupils of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Sunday School was held last Saturday at the Oracroft Wilson estate. Cashmere. Trams took out a large minibor of scholars, parents, and friends. During the afternoon a sports programme under tho supervision of the superintendent, Mr T. W. R. Hitt, was run off, the folowing being the successful competitors:—Girls: Under six: Joyce Dempsey. Under eight: Bonnie Evans. Under 10: Mona Ayson. Under 12: Rita Archer. Undor 14: Nellie Wason. Over 14: Jean Dickson. Skipping: Alma Kibblewhite. Boys—Under six: Bobby Wilson. Under eight: Alex. Wilson. Under 10: Stanley Beattio and Eric Ayson (dead heat). Under 12: Allan Kett. Under 14: Stowart Almond. Over 14: Ritchie Luke. High Jump: Nigel A'Court. Teachers' Stepping Competition—Women: Miss J. Howie. Men: W, Hitt. The prizes were presented to the successful winners by Mrs T. W. R. Hitt. Before leaving for home each child received a bag of sweets.
Road deaths showed a slight decrease in Britain in 1932, but there are still 18 ©very day throughout the country.
