Patrick Lawlor went to Australia from Kerry as a youth. He died recently at Rome and loft £108,438, exclusive of assets in New South Wales. The bequests include £IOOO to the poor of Kerry, and half of the residuary estate to the Pope for propagating Roman Catholicism. Shares worth £28,280 are left to Archbishop Mannix, of Victoria. Other Australian prelates will receive large sums to establish homes in Australia, to found a Catholic newspaper, and to complete the construction of certain churches. The widow receives a life interest in the testator's house and contents,. which after her death will go to charitable institutions.
