Her Majepty the Queon, the Duchess of York, and other members of the Royal family visited' the New "Zealand exhiSit at the British Industries Fair. The Queen sympathised with the diffieulties qf the farmers. The Duchess expressed pleasure at seeing bottled paepion fruit, of which she ordored a supply. In the course of a visit; to the Australian section the Queen and the Duchegs were attracted by the display of opals, Of which the Duchess is particularly fond. She spent some time examining the Australian gems, and recalled receiving a gift df opals in Queensland. >
