"CHARLEY'S AUNT."
V COMEDY AT RADIANT HALL. "Charley's Aunt," produced by the Marjorie Alexander Committee's comparfy in aid of the Nurse Maude Sick and Distress Fund and the Marjorie Alexander Fund, is enjoying a very successful season at the Radiant Hall. "Charley's Auut" is, a pla7 the buccobs of which depends on the ability of the person in the titlo role, and here the company is fortunate in that it has an artist of tho calibre of Mr Bernard Beeby for part. Mr Beeby, while extracting all the humour from it, succeeds also in making it a sound foundation for the whole of the comedy. A heavy role is allotted to Mr Alan Brown, as Jack Chesney, but as is to be expected, he acquits himself admirably. Mr Brown is always thoroughly at home on the boards, and as tho devout college lover, never at a loss to oxtricate himself from a seemingly hopeless ■ predicament, he is admirably cast. Equally good is Mr Harold Shaw, as his friend, Charley Wyckham. The part of Kitty Verdon is played charmingly by Mrs Guy Cotterill, who adds one more success to her already long list. As Amy Spettigue, Miss Pessy Hollander is also happily cast, and her singing in the third act is an enjoyable interlude. Miss Agnes Richardson, as Donna Lucia D'Alvadorez, and Miss Mavis Ritchie, as Ella Delahay, invest their acting with grace. As Sir Francis Chesney, Mr George Worthington impresses favourably, _as also does Mr Cyril Collins as Mr Spettigue. Mr Claude Davies addß to hia laurels by his clever work as Brassett, tho butler.
