MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At ths February meeting of the Lin\v*cod Public Library Committee the secretary reported that during January 5S new subscribers joined, making a total of 1650 subscribers on January ;>) aII increase of three over the corresponding period last year. In all BSOI books were issued tor the month, iiid increab© of about 000 on last Januarv's figures. There were 105 new books placed on the shelves. Mr A. Bretteil reported for the non-fiction committer that an increased interest was bein« shown in this section. A large number of valuable books had been purchased during the year. - The radio industry in Britain finds employment for some" 50,000 people.
