The Westland Hospital Board met at Hokitika on Monday evening, tlio chair man (Mr W. Jeffreys) presiding. Dr. E. Teiclielmann wrote tendering his resignation as anaesthetist. The chairman said Dr. Teichelmann had beer associated with tho hospital for the last 36 years, and had won a consider able reputation as a medical practitioncr. It was djecided to mark the board's appreciation of Dr.. Toichel mann's long service by placing an en larged photograph of him in the hospital. It was announced that after the ap plications for the position of secretary to tlioboard had been considered and the number reduced, the application ol Mr -F. McCabe, of Christchurch, had been selected and sent on for the approval of tho Health Department. Croquet. The W-est Coast croquet championships were continued yesterday in good weather, and good progress was made. In the final of the C Grade competition for the Dominion Croquet Council's silver button, Mrs J. Robertson (Greymouth) defeated Mrs Farr (Westport), the scores being 26-5. In the B Grade competition for the silver button, the final is to bo played between Miss Hambleton (Greymouth) and Mrs Osbourn (Reefton). In the A Grade competition for the silver button, Mrs Gilbert (Westport) boat Mrs Tcnnent (Greymouth), 26-12, 26-12. In the final, Mrs Saywell (Hokitika) lost to Mrs' Gilbert (Westport), 3-26, 14-26. In the championship singles, first life, Mrs Nottlo (Westport) boat Mrs Alan Smith, 26-3. In the second life, Mrs Nottle (Wostport) beat Mrs Hannan (Greymouth), 26-5. In tho championship doubles, second life, Mesdames Warnes and TJoocrfcson beat Mesdames Rose and McCracken (Runanga), 26-5. Sheep and Pigs. Yesterday/ three doublo-dcek r trucks of lambs were sent to the Belfast freezing works, two to Kaiapoi, and one truck of pigs to Addington.
