BREACH OF LAND AGENTS ACT.

CHARGE AGAINST A. F. STACEY. A charge of carrying on business as a land agent without a license was brought against Arthur Francis Staeey. in the Magistrate's Court, before Mr E. D. Moslcy, S.M., yesterday morning. When the charge was called there was no appearance of the defendant. Cniof-Detective J. Carroll said the defendant in the case would not ho appearing then. He had received a telegram on Wednesday night from the defondant suggesting that a fortnight 'a remand be granted. To this he had no objection. His Worship accordingly granted an adjournment to January 26. it is understood that the charges were brought as a result of the recent sale of two large City properties by the defendant.
