A severe earthquake shook the west from Rawlins (Wyoming) to Long Beach (California) on Tuesday night, bpt the damage was confined to broken windows and crockery. The shake stopped clocks in most places but no injuries were reported. The shock rocked the entire State of Nevada. At Gerlach (Nevada) a large water-tower was knocked down. Reno was also sharply shaken, and the walls of the Califorjiian State Capitol at Sacramento creaked and rattled.
