CAPTAIN T. A. DYKES.
THE FUNERAL
The funeral of Captain T. A. Dykes, formerly Superintendent of Marino and Examiner of Masters and Mates at Lyttelton, which took place yesterday at the Bromley Cemetery, was attended by many representatives ot shipping, yachting, and other interests. Many beautiful wreaths were sent hy seafaring and other friends. The pall-bearers were Captain 'l. Helmstaik. master of the steamer John Anderson, Captain T. Bowling, Marino Superintendent at Lyttelton for "io Union Steam Ship Company, Captain C. M Renaut, Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Lyttelton, Captain J. Plowman, the Lyttelton Harbour Board's first pilot. Captain A. T. Doweil, and Mr D. Kerr, Superintendent Engineer of the Union Steamship Company. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rot. D. Gardner Miller.
