ST. ALBANS SCHOOL.
REPORTED OVERCROWDING. On the occasion of., the opening of the St. Albans iSchool swimming bath, Mr H. Jiolland, M.P., was asKed to invite the Minister for Education, the Hon. R. Masters, to visit the school this week to inspect its overcrowded condition. Evidence of this state ot things was given by the fact that u«one room there are 98 children. Mr Holland communicated with the Minister, and has received the following "Concerning St. Albans:—The matter is bound up with the question or reorganisation of schools in Christchurch and the erection of an intermediate school. The establishment ot an intermediate school would release 90 pupils from St. Albans, thus affording the required relief. Action in this matter will depend, of course, on finance being made available."
