PLEASURE STEAMER BREAKS DOWN.
TOWED TO SAFETY AT PORTSMOUTH. .{BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received September 9th, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, September 8. The Southern Railway pleasure steamer Southsea, with over 400 passengers aboard, broke down in bad weather and heavy seas last evening while on a cruise round the Isle of Wight. In answer to signals a Weymouth pleasure steamer stood by and afterwards took her in tow. Later the Portsmouth naval authorities sent out a dockyard tug to take over the Southsea, which eventually reached Portsmouth early thip morning. ... ' - ' ' '' ■
