EVEREST EXPEDITION.

Mr Hugo Ruthledge has been appointed the leader of the Mount i Everest expedition. He was born in 1884 aud is Deputy-Commissioner at Almore, in the Himalayas, so he is well fitted to lead the expedition. [The expedition referred to will be undertaken by British climbers next year. • The announcement was .made in a letter from the Royal Geographical Society, signed by 1 Admiral Sir William Goodenough (president of the society) and Brigadier-General C. G. Bruce, who was the leader of the 1924 expedition. Brigadier-General Bruce hopes that by the beginning of May the expedition will be well up the mountain.]
