INQUEST.
VERDICT OP SUICIDE. A verdict that death was due to suicide by cutting his throat with a razor, while in a depressed state of mind, was returned by the Coroner vMr E. D. Mosley) at an inquest held yesterday into the death of Kenneth William Trcgurtha, aged 32, a labourer, who was found dead at his home yesterday morning. William Thduias Tregurtha, a retired railway servant, of 19 Tabart street, Woolston, said in evidence that his son had been away from home for four years and he had during that time lost trace of him. About three weeks ago he had heard that he was in Wellington out of work, and had sent for him to come home. On his arrival he was very moody and depressed and was worrying about his health. Two mornings ago he told witness that he had taken some disinfectant, but it did not appear to do him any harm. He had promised witness not to do anything of the kind again. On retiring to bed on Wednesday night, he appeared to be quite all right, but when witness went into his room yesterday morning he found him on the floor with his throat cut. He was then dead. Constable E. T. Bosworth gave evidence of finding a note left by TreI gurtha indicating his intention to commit suicide.
