PAFANUI CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting 1 of tlie Papanui Bowling, Tennis, nad Croquet Club was held on Tuesday, Mr J. L. Freeman presiding. Prior to the presentation of the report and balance-sheet the president referred to the death of Mr Pool, a. foundation member of the club. A motion of condolence with the members of Mr Pool's family was carried, members standing. The report and the balance-sheet were then presented. The president commented favourably on tha satisfactory financial position of the club. Several members spoke, the general opinion being that so far as funds would allow efforts should bo made to beautify the club's surroundings. A recommendation to the incoming committeo to this effect was carried. ' The. election of officers resulted as follows: —President, ( Mr A. ; Banks; vice-president, Mr J-.'H. Keetley; secretary, Mr it. Cr. Morrison; treasurer, Mr C. Smith; selector, Mr J. IXadley, jun.; delegate to Centre; Rev. E.. Bandy; auditor, Mr T. Gates; green superintendents, Messrs J. R. Keetley and T. Nunweek; committee—bowling, Messrs Bond, Orboll, and Noble; tennis, Messrs V. Beggs, E. Hegan, and Cyril Smith; croquet, Mr J. E. Yates.

Owing to the fact that one of the club's trustees had resigned, it became necessary to elect'a new trustee, and Mr C.>Broughton was elected.

The I winners of the club competitions were as follows:

Bowling—Championship Singles: Rev. E. Bandy. Championship Doubles: J. Hadley, jun., and' R. G. Morrison. Championship Rinks: 'R. Bond, J. R. Smith, J. Hadley, jun., R. G. Morrison. President's Rinks: J. R. Smith, J. Clarke, G. Pilkington, C. Smith. Junior Cup: W. Broughton, Tennis —Women's Championship Singles: Miss I. Tullctt. Men's Championship Singles: I. Corish.
