SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
v CASHMERE
The monthly meeting of ilia Cashmere School Committee was held on Tuesday. There were present: Mrs L. Baker, Messrs J. N. Kidd (chairman), S. C. Andrews, V.". N. Barker, E. "VV. O. White, and R. S. H. Buchanan.
The headmaster's report showed a slightly diminished attendance, owing to colds, etc. Messrs W. P. Spencer and S. C. Thompson a sub-committee from the Education Board had inspected the new playground, and a letter was received congratulating the committee 'on the excellence of the work doner It is hoped to arrange an official opening of this area during the early part of the third term, A motion of condolence was passed to the headmaster, Mr. W. G. Napier, in the death of his mooter. A sub-committee, consisting of Mrs L. Baker, Messrs Buchanan and Andrews, was appointed to consider ways and means of arranging a dance in. aid of the school funds. PAPANUI. ■The monthly meeting oi the Papanui School Committee was held on Monday. Present: Messrs W. Sandford.(in the chair), S. Craighead, C. Dyer, A. Nettleton, R. Don.ald, L. Claridge, F. Claridge, and G. Wray. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 261, and the average attendance 241. ■ The Dental Clinic Committee . reported that the nurse would be busy attending to the pupils of the Belfast S'chol for the next three weeks. The chairman was asked to interview the Papanui Pound Scheme Committee, and arrange for a depot. The appointment of Miss D. McLean as assistant mistress was approved. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr F. Claridge for carting straw and ■ upholstering the goal posts on the football gi-ound. It was decided to ask the Education Board to connect) the school with the sewer. Messrs A. Nettleton and S. Claridge were appointed a Visiting Committee.
