VERDICT OF SUICIDE.

LODGER FOUND DEAD. A verdict of suicide, by ( gas poisoning was returned by the Coroner, Mr E. D. Mosley, at the inquest yesterday into the death of Maurice Berkeley, 59 years of age, who was found dead in his room in a boardjnghouso in Worcester street on May lX)th. Annie Pretoria Harr, a. fellowlodger, said that her attention was attracted by the smell of gas coming from Berkeley's room. The room was full of gas, the jet being turned full on. < Mnry Clifford gave evidence as to Berkeley's tenancy of the flat. Ho had paid for his room twelve months in advance.
