Following six years' investigation and a trial in which 100 witnesses were heard, tho former Premier of Lithuania, M. Vytautas Petrulias, who was accused of defalcations while in office, was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment and ordered to pay £2050. It was alleged that he received money from traffickers in alcohol, also for import licenses for cigarettes and yeast.
