The most severe storm within the memory of the present • generation* brought down several buildings and also tho walls of the Mymensingh gaol in East Bengal, a number of warders being killed and others injured. The prisoners were not hurt, but a few of them escaped before the police formed a cordon round the gaol. Officials worked throughout the night extricating bodies from the debris.
