LITTLE DAMAGE.

"WIZARD" SMITH'S CAR. (PRESS "ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) , WHANGAREr, May 2. Norman ("Wizard") Smith tele, phoned the "Advocate" this afternoon that an examination had revealed, that the only damage to the car was the .burning-of the insulation on two ignition wires, and the burning of two pieces of rubber hose. . If hose of the right size had been available yesterday the mechanics would have repaired the damage and restarted the •engine. . The car was placed on board a vessel at Aw,anui this afternoon for transportation to Auckland. Smith will come south in the course of a few days. ! It is understood that Mr Nudl, the ignition expert, flew to Muriwai Beach to-day to report on the suitability of the beach for a land speed record attempt. If his report is satisfactory,. Smith will probably try again. .It is understood that the Auckland Automobile Association is favourably disposed towards another attempt.
