ADVERTISING CLUB.
AMALGAMATION PROPOSAL TO BE DISCUSSED. There will be a keen, debate at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Advertising Club oh Wednesday next, March 30th. A proposal has been submitted that the club should become "The Advertising Group pf the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce." ' The has -discussed the matter on a number of> nn& it has been decided to leave the decision to the members.' •,'■; The arguments, for arid against, are put briefly as follow* < For the Proposal—The club will gain •from its association -frith the Chamber of Commerce-by (I) added prestige iu the community; (2)^the possibility ofsecurJrijj the: attendance of the ''bigger' executives at meetings; (3) free accommodation for meetings; (4) . the services of. the secretary to the Chamber; (6) the use of the Chamber' of Commerce library, The club may be. of use to the Cha^hhe^ , ' with an infusion of new-blood. Against' the club will forfeit its separate entity-, the experierice.df the Auckland; Advertising Club in. merging with the Chamber is that ■ the members of f the,, Chamber take "little pr»no interest club; the success of the club will dejjend entirelv "apian'its officers,-whether affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce or not.
