LINWOOD PUBLIC LIBRARY.

At the March committee meeting ot the Library, the secretary reported that during February, 68 new members joined, 41 adults, and 17 juveniles. The number of books issued for the month was 8564, while new volumes placed on the shelves numbered 116. Subscriptions received during this .period amounted to £BS la, and tho sum of £27 3s 6d was obtained from issuing extra books at threepence pel' volume, A deputation was received from the Christchurch Suburban Libraries' Association, asking the Linwood Library Committee to reconsider its decision not to join tho Association. This matter was held over until the April meeting.
