PARLIAMENT.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. (PBXSI AES'JCIATIOH TJSLEOBAU.) WELLINGTON, March 15. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. Replying to Mr O'Brien (Lab., Westland), who asked what was the position in regard to the cancellation of authorised public works, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates said where work was in hand or a contract had been let, the authority to proceed would be immediately reinstated, but where contracts or commitments had not been madq, the authorities would be subjected to careful revietv by himself, and the Departmental officers before further authorities were issued. The Electoral Amendment Bill (31r C. H. Chapman) was introduced and read a first time.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. (PRESS ASSOCIA.TIOH TZLF.OaA.M.) WELLINGTON, March 15. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Hon. Sir James Parr said that no business had come forward from the House, and on Lis motion the Council rose at 2.35 p.m. until March 23rd.
