RANGIORA. The Rangiora County Council met at Rangi- ; era on Friday. Present were: Messrs W. Stalker (chairman), H. Tallott, G.K. Crytell', J. M, Young, A Mcintosh, M. 0. Ormandy, and J. Brosnan. The financial statement showed receipts lor the month to have been £772 16s, and the- expenditure. sklQ 6s 2d, leaving a debit balance of £3461 10s flOd. ..Accounts totaling £753 Is 6d were passed for payment. In his report the foreman stated that an average of fifty men a week, had been working under the No.. 5 . Scheme, being principally engaged- oa. drainage :-works. The tractor grader "was doing the round of * the roads, specialattention being given to the mam highways for holiday traffic. The 'traffic inspector reported that three new drivers' licenses had been issued, .making . the total to "date 607. A number of heavy traffic licenses had j>een_'renewed. Drivers , as a whole were N observing the regulations, with very few cases of speeding. • Confirmation of the to pay half the cost of the survey of the new road, to Waikuku beach was received from the secretary of the Waikuku Beach .Improvement Association.
