' Firms whoso buildings havo not collapsed are endeavoring to resume on the upper floors. It is estimated that 10 days' pumping wll be necessary to drain the business district of Hankow. _ ~ Elaborate preparations are in pro eress to combat epidemics. Thousands of corpses and carcases are being exposed as the water subsides.
