I'atrick Eramott Minogue, 19 Bury street, Sumnei", baker, aged 19 years, was. cliarged with the theft, on July. 3.lst, of a suit-case ..and contents, valued at 27s 6H-, the property of Edith Marion Gibbs;on August 11th, the sum of Is, the -property of -Kathleen Foley ;■ and on August 11th. tho-sum-of 56, the property of Ethel Fairthorne. _ Accused, who was represented by Mr P. P. J. Amodeo, pleaded guilty. Senihr-S'ergeant J. Fox : said ■ that Miss Gibbs had left her suit-case at Sutnner, had gono away for a few minutes, and on return it had disappeared. In the other cases money had befin extracted from the' coats of two young women at Sumner. Restitution ■ had boen .made, however. . ilr Amodeo said that accused's employer waß prepared to ta"ko him back under his apprenticeship if granted probation. Counsel ttßked for Suppression of accused's name. The Magistrate said thatr accused would bo admitted to-probation for two years. Suppression of his name would bo refused. COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. Robert James Mitchell, labourer, 25 years of age, was charged with breaking and entering by "night the shop of Charles Ernest Steans, at Little River, 1 and committing thtft therein. Chief-DetoctivoJ". Carroll ..said, that ,ac . pusod had been arrested on a charge of mi lawfully. converting a mo'tor-bai J ' te 'liis 'own. use. and a ■ number of' cheques vero' found in his possession. . Accused pleaded guilty and wrs committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
