♦- — PRIZE AWARDED. The essay competition- conducted !>.y the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Historical Association has been won bv a Christchui'cli Technical College pupil, C. R. Bradwell. The subject of the- essay, which was competed for by the foufth fortes of the secondary schools in the Canterbury district, v/as. "Edward Gibbon Wakefield, His Life and Work," and the judges Were Miss A. Candy, M.A., aftd Mr A. J. Campbell, M.A. There were ov.er i,wo hundred entries aild G.
