THE ELECTIONS.
LABOUR PARTY. MEETING AT TtANGIORA. There was an attendance of about sixty persons in. the Northern Agricultural anil Pa&toral Association Hall, Rangiora, last ovening, when Mr J. K. Arclier and Mr C. Morgan Williams addressed the meeting in the interests of the L'ahour Party. The addresses were* similar to those given by tho speakers at Kaiapoi recently, and at the close of the meeting they ware accorded a voto of thanks. Tho Mayor (Mr W. A. Rouse) presided. An invitation given by Mr 'Archer to all interested hi I'orniing a branch of the Labour Party in Rangiora to remain after the meeting received very little support, and it was decided to adjourn the matter l'or the present. PALMERSTON SEAT. (paßsa associatiok telegbam.) WELLINGTON, August 13. At the lequest of a deputation which waited upon him Mr H. M. Oram, M.A., LL.B., solicitor, of Palmerston North, consented to contest the Palmerston c.oat as a United candidate. Mr Oram is a member of-_ the Wanganui Education Board, president of the Palmerston North Chamber _ of Commerce, and a member of the High School Board WELLINGTON CENTRAL. (PUE33 ASSOCIATION TEL.'GR.VM.) WELLINGTON, August 13. United Party headquarters announced to-day that Mr llobert Darroch, secretary of the Wellington branch of the Navy League, and secretary and treasurer of the Cancer Campaign Society, will be the official candidate lor Wellington Central seat in the Party's interests at the General Election. The sitting member is Mr P. .Frascr, a supporter of the Labour Party.
