PETER DAWSON AND MARK HAMBOURG.
After a very successful season in Sydney, Mr Peter Dawson, the Australian baritone, and Mr Mark Hambourg, the Russian pianist, will appear'in a series oi concerts in Christchurch, commencing on Tuesday; July 21st, under the direction of Mr Hugo Larson, tlie Australian entrepreneur. Rarely have Chrißtchurch audiences such a golden opportunity of getting their money's worth from concerts by visiting artists. The two artists are well known. Peter Dawson is an Australian. He .was born in Adelaide, and early in life went to England and established himself as one of the greatest concert attractions of the country. His voice is known to millions of people through the medium of the gramophone. He baß made no fewer than 3000 records. The warmth of his voice and personality and the homely atmosphere he establishes on the concert platform are all qualities which have made for his sr.ccess. His appearance alono would make any concert memorable, 1 But collaborating with this ftne artist is Mark Hambourg, a pianist of Russian birth, who has established himself in every musical centre of the world an a .giant of the keyboard, and, in particular, an authoritative pxponent of Beethoven's music. He is a man' of wide culture and rich experience, whose -home in London contains a wealth of art treasure collected in -his travels throughout the world. At the moment he_ is at ♦he height of his powers. - This is his fifth lour of New Zealand. , , .
