REFORM PARTY.
ASHBURTON MEETING. FUSION REJECTION APPROVED. A meeting of the supporters' of the Reform Party was held in Ashburton last evening, when Mr James Cnrr, Methven, presided. ,'VAddresses were given: by Mr Adam Hamilton, M.P. for Wallace, and Mr David Jones, M.P. for Mid-Canter-bury, Messrs H. G. Livingstone (chairman), S. G. Holland, and H. M. Chry stall, of the North Canterbury Executive of the Reform League, also spoke. The following resolution was passed: "That this meeting of Reform Party supporters agrees with the statement issued by tho Leader*of the Opposition, tho Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, in reply to the offer of the Prime Minister, on fusion. In the opiniou of this meeting the reply sets out tho position clearly and definitely, and the Reform Party irhould go into the forthcoming election with its own policy, being the only one that will be effective in restoring confidence, and in the interests of the gene.rSj H ' e 'l-being of the Dominion." liiose precent were formed into a committee with Mr R.
